We're Closing our doors!
To the Veloce Community, Family, and Friends,
What a year! Having made it through the pandemic, our local cycling community has been growing quickly as the city continues to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle. Organizations like the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Association and events like the Electric City Classic have brought wonderful awareness to the sport, and we’re excited to see their continued success.
Unfortunately, headwinds in both the cycling industry and the economy have forced us to make the difficult decision this month to close our doors for good. We’ve worked hard to establish relationships with our suppliers, but the persistent lack of inventory availability (standard components are still not available) and the move toward manufacturer-direct sales makes business unsustainable.
While this is clearly not an ideal situation, we remain positive and hopeful about the continued growth of cycling in Scranton, and it is our intention to continue contributing to the community as best we can. Starting immediately, we will be running our largest sale ever—a liquidation! More details about this sale will be posted shortly, and we hope that you will consider coming down to the shop to do business with us one last time (we’ll give you a heck of a deal!)
We’re thankful for the enthusiasm and positivity that has represented our community these past five years, and we want to especially thank our incredible shop manager, Geoff, for his tireless work ethic and creative positivity this year (especially related to his cooking and beer selection skills!) Another big part of our culture has been shop rides, and our ride leaders like Ed have volunteered many hours of their time toward making ours a more inclusive and healthy community.
Thanks again, from the bottom of our hearts—we hope to see you soon!
